You can connect with volunteers for peer support, there is a provider directory to help connect you to a trained provider in your area, and they also have forums and social media groups available to connect to others.

SHARE: Great resource for those who have experienced fetal or infant loss. They provide educational information, remembrance, as well as group support. There are several groups in the STL area, as well as a virtual option.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, are concerned about your and your child’s safety and find yourself struggling with difficult emotions to the point that you feel you temporarily cannot care for your child, call Crisis Nursery 24 hours a day. A trained professional will provide help, resources, and emotional support. If necessary, Crisis Nursery will provide safe, emergency care for children birth through 12 years old.

Peer supported telephone line caters specifically to moms who are in the throes of baby blues, postpartum depression or anxiety disorders.

Nurses for Newborns:

Registered Nurses serve families through an evidence-informed home visiting model and provide core services including: 1) health assessments of the infant and mother, 2) extensive screening for issues including maternal depression, infant developmental delays, and risk for child abuse/neglect, 3) education on infant care, safe sleep, formula preparation and breastfeeding, CPR and more, and 4) resources and referrals for needed services. Services are provided as needed for up to two years after birth.

Parents as Teachers:

Parents as Teachers is a voluntary early childhood development program offering research-based curricula that help families raise children to be healthy, safe, and learning. You get assigned a Parent Educator who comes to your home and monitors your baby’s development. They are a wonderful and supportive resource for parents.

Infant Feeding Clinic at Missouri Baptist Medical Center:

SSM Behavioral Health Urgent Care:

Behavioral Health Urgent Care at SSM Health is the region’s first and only urgent care/walk-in clinic dedicated to mental health. The clinic treats both adults and children in urgent need of care for mental health crises. This service provides immediate access to behavioral health care without the often long and costly wait for Emergency Room care to address non-emergent issues.

Helping Hand Me Downs enhances the quality of life for children and families in the St. Louis area by meeting their immediate needs, then connecting them with life-changing resources that foster independence. The families referred to HHMD receive clothing, a seasonal coat or jacket, socks, shoes, toys and books. Depending on availability they can also help with larger items such as cribs, high chairs, toddler beds, etc.
